Highlights of the seminar:

Pathya is important as medicine as per ayurveda doctrine. Ahara is one of the

trayoupsthambha. Charaka samhitha considers pathya as one of the synonym for chikitsa in cha

chi 1/3. Acharya kashyapa has said that food is mahabheshaja. Pathya is the basic and important

component to fight against diseases. Yakrit is one of the Koshtanga and is considered as the seat

of Ranjaka Pitta. Sushrutha considered yakrit as originated from the raktha and is maternal in

origin. Yakritvikaras are Kamala, kumbh Kamala, halimaka, yakritvvidradi etc. Laghu, deepaniya

and Tikta Ahara should be followed. In Udara And Yakrit roga,. Pathya like shali shashtika,

shali,yavag, godhuma,mugda,kulatta,patola etc pathya should be followed. Pathya āhāra such as

madhu, yava, etc, are rükşa in guņa, śleşma-medohara, and lekhanīya in karma. Mudga is kapha-

pitta nāśaka. Pathya vihara such as vyāyāma, which was advised to the patients of NAFLD, has

been counted as a type of langhana therefore helpful in reducing body fat. There was a discussion

about the different food articles which are mentioned in classics and which are practically

available in today's era and different food preparations which can be advised to patients and

developing the diet chart for different diseases.

On 9th of November on the eve of 8th National Ayurveda Day Dept.of Kayachikitsa in association with Sampoorna Nayana foundation had organized a free health check up and treatment camp at Bachally. More than 100 people availed the benefits.

On 7th of November on the eve of 8thNational Ayurveda Day Dept.ofKayachikitsa organized a free health checkup and treatment camp for Diabetes mellitus and Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. About 55 patients were benefitted from this camp.
