Internal complaint committee organized an awareness program regarding safety measures at Nalwadi krishnaraja Wodeyar auditorium .The motto of the program was to ensure various measures regarding women safety . chief guest R. Saraswati gave a brief lecture on various measures which could be incorporated in everyday life which ensures safety of women and she also highlighted various IPC and Crpc sections in regard to crimes against women and the punishment for the same. The program was concluded by felicitating the chief guest.

 NATIONAL HEALTH CAMPAIGNS OF AYUSH AND ITS COMPONENTS UNDER NRHM- Seminar presenation by Dr.Gireesh 3rd yr PG Scholar

The presentation started with introduction and definitions of HEALTH CAMPAIGNS, AYUSH and NRHM. Later it went in an interactive way and gave insigts about the AYUSH system of Medicines and their role in public health,the different initiatives of AYUSH  in co-ordination with National Rural Health Missions such as National Program for Prevention and Management of Osteoarthritis & other Musculoskeletal Disorders Integration of AYUSH with National Program for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS),SUPRAJA: AYUSH Maternal & Neo-natal Intervention,VAYO MITRA: AYUSH Geriatric Healthcare Services,AYURVIDYA: Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle through AYUSH for School,AYUSH Mobile Medical Unit,National Program on AYUSH for Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention (MMDP) of Lymphatic Filariasis (Lymphoedema),KARUNYA: AYUSH Palliative Services,Behaviour Change Communication (BCC),Mobility Support and AYUSH GRAM etc.

Present status of Ayush in India and its awereness brought into light in discussion part and the seminar concluded with the need for coordination between the ACADEMIC-RESEARCH-CLINICAL sectors of AYUSH to meet the desired goals and ojectives of the AYUSH in India.

Retired principals and professors from our own institution were invited as chief guests where, everyone shared about their perspectives of charaka and charaka samhitha.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE -CARDIO YOGA SUMMIT

 

LOOKING HEART FROM THE LENS OF YOGA

2nd year and final year PG Scholars attended a one day cardio yoga summit which was organized by  Sri Jayadeva Institute of cardiovascular sciences and research in association with Ayurveda research center Mysuru.  The summit hosted many important dignitaries such as Dr. srinivasulu IFS Commissioner of AYUSH. Dr.Ganghadhar chairman National medical council etc. The session had delegates from various faculties including Ayurveda, contemporary science and yoga. The session had guest speakers who covered on topics such as

·        Introduction to yoga and cardiology .

·        Therapeutic consideration of yoga in cardiology.

·        Research updates in yoga and cardiology .

·        Yoga and cardiology -past ,present and future .

These sessions covered basics of yoga and cardiology, the increased prevalence of cardiac disorders among Indian subcontinent , the influence of western lifestyle and its role in causing cardiac disorders .Speakers highlighted the possible theories through which Asanas and pranayama have their effect on circulation and thus improving cardiac health.

Research updates in yoga and cardiology stated various completed, ongoing researches which are been conducted through various  collaborations. The panel discussion included delegates

Inquiring asanasa to be advised to patients with and without cardiac illness, Differential diagnosis of various cardiac disorders etc. The session was concluded with felicitation to the guest speakers .
