KITAVISHA DAMSHTRA[EARLY CELLULITIS]

A 62-year-old man presented with painful, burning vesicular eruptions on the right cheek, eye, and nose following an insect bite, diagnosed initially as herpes zoster. Despite allopathic and antiviral treatments, symptoms worsened, with pus discharge and sinus formation indicating secondary bacterial infection and Agni Visarpa.
Ayurvedic diagnosis confirmed Vata-Pitta predominant Agni Visarpa involving Rakta, Mamsa, and Lasika dhatus on Complete analysis of the presentation of disease it can be diagnosed as Kita Visha Damshtra[Early Cellulitis].
Treatment included Dashanga and Gairika lepa, Mahatiktaka ghrita, virechana with Trivrit Avaleha, and local wound management with Nimba kalka, leading to notable clinical improvement.
The case highlights the effectiveness of integrated Ayurvedic management including Shodhana and Shamana therapies in complex inflammatory skin disorders, especially when modern treatments fail. Early diagnosis, differential evaluation, and classical interventions proved crucial in preventing complications and promoting healing.
