Case discussion was done on undiagnosed neurological disorder: A female patient aged 22 years presented with/weakness and heaviness of left lower limb since 2 years, difficulty in walking since 2 years, weakness and heaviness of left upper limb since months, delayed and slurred speech since 4 years.
Examination revealed decreased power in left upper and lower limb along with diminished biceps and triceps reflexes and exaggerated knee and ankle reflex Tandem walking heel/ shin test was not possible. MRI identified altered multiple signal areas in periventricular white matter. Bilateral thalami and both sides of mid brain without diffusion of restriction - Likely demyelination.
She was treated with shirodhara with ksheerbala and Brahmi taila followed by virechana. Snehapana with Ashwagandha ghruta, sarvanga abyanga with ksheerbala taila, virechana with trivrut avaleha, total number of vegas were 19. On discharge patient was advised sasmsarjana krama, Second admission was done after 7 days for basti chikitsa in Yoga basti pattern, in which Ashwagandha ghruta(80ml) for Anuvasana and Mustadi Rajayapana basti for Niruha was adopted. Patient showed mild improvement in speech and gait. Discussion was done on probable diagnosis of disease and intervention.
